Scholarship Applications
Every year, Moon Lake Electric Association is honored to award thousands of dollars in educational assistance to graduating seniors in our service territory. Each scholarship will be for $2000 and can be used at any accredited college, trade school apprenticeship, or vocational technical school.
Candidates must meet the following criteria to be considered:
- Must be a high school senior
- Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Must have taken the ACT or similar test
- Applicant, their parents, or legal guardians must be members of Moon Lake Electric Association
Candidates must provide the following supporting documentation:
- A high school transcript, showing at least a 3.0 GPA and ACT score
- A Senior headshot photograph
- 3 Letters of Recommendation
Letters of Recommendation can come from one of the following sources:
- Teacher, guidance counselor, or other school official
- Community, industry, or church leader
- Other personal, non-family references
Candidates will be evaluated by our scholarship committee, based on their merits and financial need. If necessary, a personal interview with the candidate will be scheduled after the submission deadline.
Candidates for this scholarship must submit the following documentation:
- A high school transcript, showing at least a 3.0 GPA and ACT score
- A Senior headshot photograph
- 3 Letters of Recommendation
In addition, candidates must complete one of the following:
- A community service project: Candidate must document using photos and a letter from the beneficiary of the service.
- A one page, single-spaced essay on the following topic: Describe the weaknesses of the US Electric Industry, and how we can prepare for the increased demands on the electrical grid.
Candidates will be evaluated by the Board of Directors, based on their merits and financial need. If necessary, a personal interview with the candidate will be scheduled after the submission deadline.
